Pennsylvania Licensure

Current Licensure Efforts

What is licensure?
Licensure would provide art therapist's in Pennsylvania the opportunity to show clients and clinicians that they have met and/or exceeded the minimum requirements of a master's degree, post-graduate supervision, and credentials from the Art Therapy Credentials Board which certifies that education, continuing education, and ethical guidelines of the field of art therapy are being followed by the practitioner.

All PA Art Therapists are encouraged to join PAATA on March 20th, 2024 for Hill Day!
Hill Day is a time when we will bring a spotlight to the profession of art therapy and the need for art therapist's to attain a professional license in the state of PA. We encourage art therapist's to show up, stand/sit with us at our table, and make art in real-time in the Capital Building in Harrisburg. PAATA board members will be happy to talk to representatives, we just need YOU to support the potential LPAT license in-person at the Capitol!

Questions? Please email us at least 48 hours ahead of time to [email protected].
